spring 2025 anime review

I am so behind in anime and get even more behind every season (!!) BUT I somehow caught up with my Spring 2025 watches. A huge perk of finally having this blog is that I no longer have to handwrite all of my reviews :^) There wasn't a lot that I watched this season (as compared to last season and the 7 titles I was following) so this might be a short post.

In no particular order:

1. Black Butler - Emerald Witch arc

╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ Actually definitely in an order and I fear Black Butler outsold as always. Without fail, it was the one singular series that I watched weekly (and lost my mind over). This arc was exactly where I left off in the manga many many many MANY years ago. I've been following Black Butler since I watched the first season. I feel like me saying I love the franchise is a not a shock to anyone (the series is so Prim Roserin coded I fear). This arc was SO fun especially if you ignore the trauma!

2. My Hero Academia: Vigilantes

╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ I won't lie, I haven't even caught up with regular BNHA and I am extremely behind in the anime but I remember reading vigilantes when it came out and LOVED it. The anime was surprisingly fun for me to watch! I lost interest in BNHA solely because of the fandom (LOL). bakudeku slime is so real <- doesn't know what that is. But Vigilantes was SO fun to watch. I loved the interactions between Pop Step and Koichi. Koichi is SO cute!!! And I love how absolutely pathetic he is!!!!

3. Windbreaker S2

╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ I LOVE WINDBREAKER!! If I had to describe this series to sell it to someone, it's a fighting anime. But they use their fists. And somehow it's a little homoerotic. The main character, Sakura Haruka, is a new student to Bofurin and wants to live almost a "lone wolf" lifestyle but then the power of friendship wins him over (,,╥ᯅ╥,,) Seeing Sakura grow as a person throughout the series is so heartwarming. This anime is like if haikyuu was about fighting each other and also lacks balls.

So funny how I started this off as an anime review post only to realize that I was so busy last season that these were the only anime that I was keeping up with. This summer season of anime isn't any better and I'm SO behind all of the anime I'm watching. I'll catch up one day and make a post when I do. (I'm honestly still trying to finish a series from Winter 2024 lol).
